Kenyon's journey with soccer began as a young boy growing up mostly overseas including three years in both Denmark and El Salvador. His first experience with club soccer was with the Danish Super League club, Kgs. Lyngby FC at the age of 11. That was followed by playing mostly street soccer in El Salvador and Guatemala, where his Swedish grandmother lived. Upon returning to the US for high school, he played (3) years at Walt Whitman HS in Bethesda, MD earning All-County honors his senior year. Kenyon then went on to play for the University of North Carolina in the late 70's as 4-year letterman with the likes of Anson Dorrance (former US WNT coach, and current UNC Women's coach) and Mark Berson (current U. of South Carolina Men's coach).
In 1978 he moved to Charleston, SC where he was the Asst. Coach at the Citadel (1978-79). He started a men's club team, Charleston FC, which would go on to win numerous SC state titles in the 80' and 90's. He left the collegiate coaching scene to dedicate his time to growing soccer at both the youth and adult levels in the Charleston area. In 1979 he co-founded the first area wide soccer association, joining together 5 relatively new soccer clubs. One of the clubs was the Mt. Pleasant Soccer Club, which he helped develop and to this day still exists with several thousand players.
He received his National C & B coaching licenses in the 80's, coaching local youth club teams, but mostly running player & coaching clinics for the local clubs and summer camps. In the mid-80's he began the first adult soccer league in the area through the City of Charleston Department of Recreation. Within (5) years the Charleston Soccer League had grown to over 1,000 adults playing soccer year round. In 1994 he was elected President of the SC Amateur Soccer Assn., a position he would hold until 2000. During that time, the SCASA tripled its membership. Also starting in 1978, Kenyon began refereeing and would continue to do so for 32 years at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels.
It was in 1984 that Kenyon organized his first soccer tournament, (4) men's teams from Charleston, Columbia, SC and Atlanta, GA. That tournament, the Lowcountry Soccer Festival became one of the country's largest adult tournaments on Memorial Day weekend. His 2nd tournament was a Thanksgiving youth tournament, started in 1985, that also was initiated while working for the City's Department of Recreation. It quickly grew to be a premier youth event in the south with over 250 teams. Other tournaments sprouted up including adult coed, adult 6v6, youth and adult indoor soccer. Since that hot weekend in 1984, Kenyon has managed over 120 soccer tournaments. In 2002, he took a break from soccer, except for refereeing.
In 2008, Kenyon returned to soccer and began Lowcountry Soccer LLC, a soccer event management business. Ironically, it was a friend who as a young boy from Raleigh had come to Charleston several times to play in the popular Thanksgiving tournament that Kenyon ran, who convinced him re-start his soccer career. Today LS manages (3) youth soccer tournaments, (1) large adult event, over (20) 3v3 soccer tourneys and the day to day operations of LSYSA (the club league of coastal SC). In 2009, Kenyon was instrumental in launching the 3v3 World Soccer Tour, which will be in (10) states in 2011.
He has been married to his lovely wife Cindy since 1986.

In November of 2009, the founders of the 3v3 World Soccer Tour contacted Lowcountry Soccer (LCS) looking for a 3v3 tournament entrepreneur to help launch the tour in the southeast. LCS had experienced some success in the summer of 2009 with the development of (7) 1-day 3v3 tournaments in SC and NC. LCS agreed to grow the tour in the Carolinas and Georgia. In 2010, over (20) 1-day 3v3 WT events were held including the debut of (3) State 3v3 Champions Cup in NC, SC and GA. In 2011, LCS will be expanding the 3v3 World Soccer Tour into new states such as Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

A partnership was forged which included providing a venue, BB&T Park, for the inaugural North Carolina 3v3 Champions Cup. In 2011, SoccerOP will operate (3-4) 3v3WT events in North Carolina and (2) in southern VA. SoccerOp has been an instrument part of the initial growth and development of the 3v3 World Soccer Tour.
